Yes, totally, except that I’d have believed that I also had horses and an elephant, and that my house was bright teal.  Which is still my dream home, actually.  When I was a kid, I was all about getting away, and I fully believed I’d have a horse ranch in Africa or something.  So this does, I admit, stack up pretty nicely on the whole childhood dreams thing.  Still waiting on my elephant pal, though….

I didn’t know you lived near Erie!  I have to say I miss being near the lake.  The ocean is one of my best friends, don’t get me wrong, but little Headlands beach, full of driftwood and shells and beach glass and fire pits and dunes, was like a well-kept secret.  There are new feelings to be had, of course, with some little tater tots of my own one day.

Very true, and sometimes it feels just like that.  I love my home now and I’m sure I’ll miss it when I’m somewhere else — sad thing about human nature, huh?

Yes.  Just right, just so.  I always have dreams about what I’ll do with my house in the future, and it’s exciting and fabulous, but the best memories will come with me and get painted into the walls.
